Pumpkin Carving & Autumnal Games Night

On Wednesday 24th October, NBYFC got together at Bletsoe Village Hall for some Halloween themed fun!

We kicked the night off by carving pumpkins - both traditional orange and spooky, ghostly white gourds were used!

After carving our pumpkins we set about some silly autumnal games - apple bobbing, blind pin the smile on the pumpkin and race to make a mummy were some hits you can see in the pictures below...

Mr Mulligan's Lost World Golf

On Wednesday 17th October the members of NBYFC met in Milton Keynes to play the long awaited Mr Milligan's Lost World Golf!

We met slightly earlier at 7pm and set off into the neon lighted mini golf course. All ages enjoyed what the course had to offer and a great night was had by all.

Thank you to all of the members that came along to the meet!

New Members Night 2018

On 10th October, the members of NBYFC met for an evening of shooting and rock climbing fun at Twinwoods Adventure, welcoming several new members into the club too!

We had a great night, racing each other up and down the rock climbing wall and enjoying some indoor shooting practice

Thank you to all the new and old members that turned up!

Scarecrow Building: Straw-of-War!

We recently built our scarecrow for this years first competition. We love tug of war... take a look at our straw-of-war team below too!

North Beds walk the Three Shires Way

The first morning got off to a great start walking 10 miles in the first three hours, spirits were high waving the banner to passers-by and getting a march on as we approached breakfast however after walking through long wet grass, feet were already looking a bit disheveled. The afternoon started to get a bit arduous with blistered feet and sore knees, luckily Joe Pell’s jokes hadn’t yet run out. A whopping 28 miles were knocked off the total on the first day leading us all to collapse in the Williams’ garden. This didn’t stop some people from partying that night!

The sun was out bright and early on the second day as we all headed towards Tilbrook Grange. A muddy patch from Easton to Grafham took walkers down, but we soldiered on through! It was soon clear that even stopping to pick up water could make the next steps difficult therefore powering on was the only way forward. John Bates offers of his bike to stragglers to have a bit of respite to catch up were very tempting. We all grouped together before crossing the finishing line then heading onto parents waiting to give us a cheer. An incredible effort by Barney Sykes who completed his 4th day of walking totaling 98 miles having had his D of E walk in the days prior.

One thing is, we were definitely fuelled well. The Barkers kindly provided breakfast on Saturday, the Williams’ hot dogs at the finish line, the Hunters some fantastic burgers and Kate Sharman beers and ice creams half way on Sunday.

The support team rallied round the country ensuring we had water, sweets and a seat if any war torn walkers were in need.

Thank you for the immense support on social media from clubs, family and friends. Your likes, comments and donations were all a massive motivation to get us to the finish line.

We would also like to thank some of our principle sponsors, Arcade, Zantra, Bird Brothers, Robinson & Hall, Milton Ernest Garden Centre, Chandlers, Morgan Pell Meats, Fisher German, Ben Burgess, Revive Injury Clinic, Lodgeway, JM Engineering and Robinsons of Kimbolton along with everyone else who has been kind enough to support us with their generous donations. 🙏

We are very excited to announce that the total amount we have raised through this walk is £5,554! We are delighted that we have been able to support the Beds and Cambs Rural Support Group who do fantastic work supporting those who feel isolated, are ill or are going through financial difficulties. If you are reading this and in need of support, they are only a call away. Alternatively, you can also visit their website to find out more: Beds & Cambs Rural Support Group

Rally 2018

It's been a busy month since we competed in the annual Bedfordshire YFC Rally!

However here are some of our highlights from the end of the competitions, during the float parade...

This year, our float was themed Robin Hood and His Merry Men:

The members of North Beds YFC had a great time, cheering and waving at all of the spectators in their fancy dress

until the end of the parade came and it was time for the infamous flour and water fight against the other clubs...

A huge thank you to all of the members who got involved and to all of the family and friends who attended the day. Until next year!
